Several songs for the debut album of ALVENRAD called “Habitat” are written! The album will be released by a label to be announced soon. Furthermore we have got quite some other updates!

1. The musicians on “Habitat” will be:

• Mark Kwint: clean, choir & grim vocals, electric and acoustic guitars, bass
• Jasper Strik: keys, piano, FX, programming
• Erik Sprooten (ANCIENT RITES, ex-INQUISITOR): solo and lead guitars
• Koen de Graaf (ex-THRONAR, ex-BURNING HATRED): grunts

2. ANCIENT RITES-guitarist Erik Sprooten will do some solo and lead guitar playing on the album. We’re proud to corporate with this passionate guitar player from such a renowned band as ANCIENT RITES! \m/

3. We officially got permission to use the magnificent painting “Mystieke Paden” from Gust van de Wall Perné as cover artwork!

4. Maybe you noticed the domain names “alvenrad.com” and “alvenrad.nl”. THIS IS NOT US! It seems that someone started to use our name, after we published the band name publicly before they did. We contacted the front man and he admitted that he was mean by registering the domain names, after he noticed there already existed a band called ALVENRAD. They do not seem willing to change the band name. We’ll keep you updated about this! Hopefully they will change their minds and their name; we’re quite sad about this.

5. After a lyric written by Mark called “Woudakoestiek”, Jasper started to record the reverb of the forest. We will use the reverb on both instruments and vocals to get a true forest atmosphere. Jasper will blog about the idea of “Woudakoestiek” soon!
